Welcome to my new homepage!
This past summer my new book and my first solo music project released. My hope is that you experience a bit of each right here. The new book, Secondhand Jesus: Trading Rumors of God for a Firsthand Faith, traces four stories of the Ark of Covenant, each exposing a rumor of God that unravels in the heat of a crisis. It's a combination of personal story and Biblical story that is meant to challenge a view of God based on secondhand information and inspire a journey toward firsthand faith. I'm honored to have had Eugene Peterson say this about the book: "Glenn Packiam lays bare the shameless lies of a way of religion, very popular these days in America, without foundations in Jesus or Scripture." You can click on the "Books" tab to read all the endorsements, the table of contents, and the entire first chapter.
The new CD, Rumors and Revelations, my debut solo project, can be a soundtrack for that journey. It's a studio record featuring a combination of new songs and well-loved favorites. One of the highlights is "Burning in Me", a song inspired by the themes of Secondhand Jesus which I co-wrote with Gregg Hampton, a good friend of mine.
So, look around. Watch. Listen. Read. Worship. Pray. Be inspired.
